It’s time to share with you guys some of my FALL FAVORITES! On my first ‘fall faves’ themed post for the year, I’m sharing all things Nordstrom – because we all know and LOVE Nordies. Plus they have fabulous designers, a killer return policy, and free shipping. Win win win.
Before I get into each individual item and why I love each, today’s post is featuring staple items that your closet NEEDS. Why? Because all of these basic pieces can be worn over and over again, and styled in a million different ways. Maybe for my next post I will do my favorite fall statement pieces?? I truly believe that you need to fill your closet with some more staple/basic pieces before throwing in all the statements. Then you have items to wear your statement pieces with that are more neutral and muted. If you go straight in for the statement pieces, you will hit those “I have nothing to wear” days often. Anyways, let’s get into today’s faves!
ONE (PAIGE DENIM) – Paige is one of my all time favorite denim brands and for the men in your life, it’s one of Al’s favorites too! Some of the many reasons we love Paige so much is the fit, material, styles, and the denim lasts forever! I still have pairs of Paige jeans in my wardrobe that I bought back in 2014! This specific pair caught my eye because of the asymmetrical distressed hemline. This is the perfect pair to add to your wardrobe if you want denim with character, but without holes all over them. It’s hard to find really simple denim that still has unique characteristics. You could wear these out on a date night, to your work, to brunch, or even just to run errands. This pair is currently 33% off, what!!! And the site says they run small so order one size up!
TWO (BP KNOTTED MULES) – These beauties come in 5 colors and are only $70! Backless footwear (also known as slides or mules) were a huge trend this spring & summer and they are not slowing down. I own a couple pairs myself and they are definitely my number one go to shoe! I love the bow detail on these, they give a feminine vibe to any outfit you decide to pair them with.
THREE (BRIXTON FIDDLER (AKA BAKER BOY) HAT – These hats are everywhere this season!! If you haven’t noticed yet, look around. You will find one in seconds. I got myself one off ASOS, but it sold out so I can’t link my exact one but this one is nearly identical and the Brixton ones have been the most popular. I love stocking my wardrobe with hats because they add a ‘wow’ factor to any outfit, but also I don’t like to wash my hair everyday so on day three of not washing, I’ll just throw on a hat to go one more day haha!
FOUR (REBECCA MINKOFF CROSSBODY) – This crossbody is absolutely adorable and it also comes in 6 different colors! Red is the ‘it’ color of the season, so that is the one I chose for this post but I love the vintage pink, black, and gray ones too!! Small bags like this are a necessity for things like going out or going to dinner – occasions where you don’t want to haul your big purse with your entire life in it.
FIVE (TREASURE & BOND TASSEL SCARF) – Yes, scarves are a stylish accessory but they actually do keep you so so warm! Last fall and winter, I think I wore scarves 80% of the days for staying warm reasons alone. It does help though if they are super cute like this!! This scarf comes in 5 colors and is a perfect medium thickness. I think I may purchase the vintage blue color too because it is the perfect color and will match everything! It’s also only $35!
SIX (FREE PEOPLE KNIT SWEATER) – This sweater is the sweater of my chunky sweater dreams. It comes in 4 different colors and although it is oversized, the shape keeps it flattering. Don’t be scared of turtlenecks and shy away from them! They are on trend, warm, and then you don’t have to worry about accessorizing with necklaces! (Unless you drape them over). The ‘terracotta’ color would be my other favorite for this sweater! They also run true to size.
SEVEN (1.STATE BOOTIES) – These booties are currently 55% off (now $60!!!) and come in one other color. Such a steal! Showing your ‘side foot’, (I guess that’s what I should call it, I don’t know what else to haha), has been a shoe trend this year by lots of brands such as Free People and it is awesome that more affordable versions are coming out! I have a similar pair that is flat without the short block heal but I personally love this short heel on these so they can be dressed up and down more easily.
EIGHT (FREE PEOPLE THERMAL) – I am in love with thermals. I am so happy they are still cool to wear!! The best thing about thermals is you can wear them with anything. You can wear them on their own, with scarves, with necklaces, with vests, with cardigans, with jackets/coats, really anything! This specific one comes in 8 different colors and runs big so size down!
NINE (BLANKNYC SUEDE MOTO JACKET) – This may be the ‘it’ jacket this year. I have seen it everywhere and have it in the gray version myself! It’s a great piece to invest in because it never goes out of season or out of style. They seem to make an almost identical jacket every single year so the one you buy now you will be able to wear for years to come. It comes in 6 colors and runs just a wee bit small so if you are in between sizes, choose the bigger size!
TEN (ADIDAS SNEAKERS) – Light gray and blush pink together is my all time favorite color combo!! These shoes are freaking ADORABLE and Adidas are my favorite sneaker brand. I think I own 4 pairs and they are my go-tos for everything whether it’s working out or running to the grocery store. I also style them with dresses or jeans + sweaters too! I definitely think these will sell out, so act fast! They are only $85 and come in 4 colors!
ELEVEN (FREE PEOPLE SCARF) – Another scarf to share with you guys. This one is BIG & BEAUTIFUL. It comes in 5 colors and is only $48 which is a pretty good deal for anything Free People!! You can style it a couple different ways and the product images show you another way to wear it that also looks cute. This is definitely an item I’ll be buying in either ‘light gray’ or ‘neutral’.
TWELVE (TREASURE & BOND OVER THE KNEE BOOTS) – I had to add an OTK boot on here because they are so much fun to style!! This one is on sale right now for only $85 which is an amazing price and it comes in 4 colors! So many other boots that are similar are going to be priced $200+ so I couldn’t believe how amazing this deal was! One of the 3 other colors they come in is black, which is a perfect staple to add to your wardrobe. These boots can be worn over jeans or with dresses and truly complete your whole look.
THIRTEEN (BAUBLEBAR EARRINGS) – BaubleBar is my favorite brand of accessories lately. They make the cutest earrings and necklaces and every time I am looking for some new accessories, this is the first brand I go to. They also came out with an even more affordable line called “SugarFix” which they sell at Target! I’ve gotten a couple from there too! This specific pair comes in 5 different colors and I think these would be PERFECT for all your holiday looks coming up!
FOURTEEN (GOOD AMERICAN DENIM) – This is a newer brand of denim and their goal as a brand is to make denim for women of ALL shapes and sizes! I tried on multiple pairs during the Anniversary Sale and what stood out to me the most was the comfort! I know several people who have purchased this denim and I have heard nothing but amazing reviews! What I love about this pair is they have that distressed appearance, but only bigger rips at the bottom! Super distressed denim isn’t for everyone so these are a perfect middle ground! They do run large so order one size down!
