As much as I love some of my big home decor stores like West Elm, CB2, Crate and Barrel, and Lulu and Georgia…there is something so special about shopping at a small Etsy shop knowing your piece was crafted with love ❤ There is also nothing better than a piece in your house that means something to you and your family, and Etsy shops are perfect for those more customized items.
Al and I moved into our first home together last February so it’s been just over a year. We had purchased the big things like our couch, rugs, tables, etc., and although it might appear to be completely decorated…for us something was missing. After sitting down on our couch one night and chatting about our current decor, we realized we needed something filling up our wall space; a reminder about family, love, and our Father. So I got hunting! I found not only one sign for our master bedroom, but also another sign for our living room – both tie those spaces together so perfectly! On top of looking beautiful, the meanings are so powerful and words that I want to look at every single day.
I got our master bedroom sign from an Etsy shop called Rooted N Grounded. It reads 1 Corinthians 13: 7-8, “love is patient, love is kind, it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres, love never fails” I love having such a powerful verse about LOVE right above our heads as we sleep each night.
For our living room, I wanted something a little larger. I had this vision of a sign with a lot of words…if that makes sense? I didn’t want a sign with just one word or only 4 words that are all large. I loved the look of a paragraph. I found our living room sign on the Etsy shop Pine Tree Lane Studios. It is PERFECT! It reads Psalm 91 and is a pretty long verse to write out. I love having our bedroom sign be a reminder of how Al and I need to love each other every day, our living room reminder is the big picture of following God and more-so your relationship with Him than each other.
Now that I got to tell you kind of our thought process on our lately home buys and why each piece fits our life and our house, I thought it would be fun to share my top 5 shops on Etsy for signs, pillows, blankets, etc! My Favorite Top 5 Etsy Shops For Home Decor:
Homely Space – This shop definitely has a more modern vibe! They are prints rather than hand panted. This is actually the route I thought I was going to go before finding the signs I bought, but I do see myself coming back here as I need to fill more wall spaces. My favorite thing about this shop is all the baby animals! I can totally see myself ordering some of these prints for our nursery someday 🙂
Rooted N Grounded – This shop has SO many options when it comes to signs! You will want every single one I promise. There are signs for entry ways, kitchens, nurseries, bedroom – really any space in your home. A lot of them do have that ‘farmhouse’ vibe which is darling.
Wood Sign Studio – If you tend to like warmer tones, or more ‘wood’ accents in your home, you will love this shop. (It’s also a cute shop to look at for any decorative signs you’d want at your wedding!!)
Maewoven – This is my favorite shop to search for throw pillows. I’ve been a huge Maewoven fans for over a year now. Our pillows on our couch are from here & I would love to get more for our master bedroom since every time I photograph our room I end up bringing the couch ones up.
SarahLouCo – I’m sure you guys have seen these AMAZING wool blankets…if not you are missing out and need to go look, NOW! They are absolutely gorgeous, I am finally gonna order one myself. They truly cozy up any space – whether placed draping over your couch or across your bed. I’m seriously obsessed.
