I did something super fun this past week and it was a total walk down memory lane!! If you are new around here, you may not know this, but last year I opened an online clothing store! It was a little boutique that I sold online and locally and ran all by myself out of our house. After a couple of months I realized that my real passion was solely in blogging and that that is where I wanted to put my focus and energy into – but that forever gives me such a love for boutiques!! And the boss babes running them! It’s no easy task!
Something fun that some bloggers have been doing now to collaborate with boutiques is shooting their collections! This is such a cool way to launch new arrivals with different girls styling the pieces and editing the photos to their brand / aesthetic. It was so fun for me because it really did feel like I was shooting for my boutique all over again – which is something I haven’t done in a long time!
I photographed in some new spring / summer pieces for a boutique called Effin Shop. (So many good puns with their name haha!) They have adorable pieces and all under $100 and most everything I shot was under $50! I found this boutique via Instagram a couple months ago and I love the mixture of basics and statements that they carry. You can really find a little bit of everything – and at such good prices! Today was a rough day for Al and I as we moved out of our first home together. I’ve shared this whole journey with you guys since day one so I also wanted to share this more down day too. I posted and chatted on my Instagram stories and I just want to say thank you to all of you for all the sweet messages. Going through them today was so uplifting and it really makes me realize how amazing this community is and reminds me how thankful I am for all of you! I feel so connected to you guys honestly, and feel like I know all of you so personally. Saying goodbye was the hardest part but I know in our future lies so many more memories and happiness!! But I appreciate you all sending so much love and prayers our way over something so simple as moving homes. I know it’s a small thing in life and that there will be much larger obstacles that we will face and that some of you may be facing right now, but you guys supporting us and being there for me when I get emotional over the little things means the absolute world. I can’t even put it into words!
