Exactly a week ago today was our first night in our new house! We have been here a week and although I do absolutely love our new house – we feel like we spent the first week ‘glamping’ out here haha. We sold mostly all our furniture with our old house, so we moved in with maybe 3-4 things and luckily our new mattress got delivered the day before we moved in so we’ve had a mattress on the floor to sleep on. But our appliances got delayed, we actually just got them a day ago, so we spent basically the first week with no fridge, freezer, washer or dryer and kept a cooler in the garage with my coffee creamer in it so I could still have my morning coffee. Dedication. I also have spent the past 24 hours trying to catch up on all the laundry that’s accumulated due to not being able to do it, (but actually what’s new I’m the worst with laundry haha). Anyways, that is how we have been living the past week! Just wanted to throw a little reality your direction.
We hadn’t purchased any new furniture or decor yet because we had to wait on a couple of things, but yesterday I FINALLY got the green light from my hubs to order…YAY! And I have honestly spent the past month adding things to about 7 different carts so I already had a general idea of what I wanted to purchase first round! We decided to take our ordering ‘store by store’ so we can make sure we have everything from that specific store we want first before ordering – hello saving on shipping! ALSO, a little fun fact for ya’ll that may not know this. Crate and Barrel and CB2 have a ‘new movers’ discount, all you gotta do is call your store and request it! They will ask for your old address & your new one and you do have to wait a couple of weeks for verification. But then you get 15% off your entire order with them! (Sale items not included). This is amazing because furniture stores rarely have sales on the big items like couches, but this discount applies to those! So we had requested our new movers discount and decided that we were going to place our first orders with Crate and Barrel and CB2. Also because our couch is from Crate and Barrel and that is maybe the most important thing we are ordering.
