Woah how is it JUNE!! As I went to type this I was about to type ‘almost June’ and then I was like wait…we are almost a whole week in! I am so excited about this summer and for multiple reasons – but mostly getting to be outside! I love all things outdoors, but only when it’s warm out haha. Talk to me in winter and I will tell you the complete opposite. I’m not an outdoor girl in the winter. Once these months hit, I love to hike, walk my dog, go out on the boat, adventure downtown, and just really soak it all in.
This summer is busy for a few reasons, but I also know I will have a lot of free time in between to make some summer memories. Al and I’s summers both kicked off with bachelor and bachelorette parties that we just got back from on Sunday. The boys went down to Vegas and us girls went to Arizona and stayed at my parent’s house down there! We both had tons of fun but we always get eager to be back home and in routines by the end of vacations so it’s been a fun yet busy couple of days getting back into the swing of things! Our anniversary is this upcoming Monday – two years!! I always call us newlyweds but at what point are we not considered newlyweds anymore?? I can’t believe it’s two years!! As of now we have no plans…bad wifey. But I am tossing around the idea of surprising him with a night downtown and dinner at a new restaurant! (Let’s hope he doesn’t read this). We might be weird, but one of our favorite things to do is try new restaurants and order things we haven’t ordered before so I think it would be a fun way to spend our anniversary!
3 weeks or so after our anniversary is Al’s birthday. He’s turning 27 which I cannot believe that either!! Seems crazy that we met when he was just 21! This is also something I have zero plans for, bad wifey part two. Send help. But I do always love his birthday and the excuse to spoil him so I’m happy that that is right around the corner too 🙂
We have two weddings this summer. The first one we are both in – he is the best man. Those are the friends who we just celebrated over the weekend and they get married at the beginning of July. The second wedding is at the end of summer and I am the matron of honor in that wedding! So some really big and exciting weddings this year for us ❤ The second wedding is in Tennessee so we decided to make a week out of it and have been starting to plan our road trip and a little post-wedding stay in Nashville! We have absolutely no idea what we are going to do in Nashville so send your recommendations my way! I’m searching for food, hotels, and activities!!
Apart from all those wedding festivities, we have a relatively low key summer and I’m actually happy about it! We have already started to have gorgeous weather in Seattle so I have a feeling it will be a great summer to stay home, go boating, and spend lots of time outside!
This brings me to part two of this post…my summer attire!!
I can already tell that my summer is going to call for tons and tons of summer basics! But cute ones of course 😉 I’m sure most of you who have been following me for a little while will remember the sherpa jackets that I lived in all winter…well my summer basics are from the same place!! Southern Shirt! I grabbed tons of adorable pieces from them that I can wear to bbq’s, to the lake, out to brunch, on a walk – really wherever this warm weather takes me! Some favorite pieces that I grabbed are:
Sundance Popover – This striped top can easily be dressed up or down which I love! I will say my favorite way to style it would be knotting the front with either high waisted shorts or a skirt! They styled it knotted on their Instagram page and I fell in love!
Maddie shorts – Alright friends, if you are gonna order anything order these! I absolutely love these shorts and got them in two different colors! I grabbed the gray and the blue just because those are the colors I thought would match my closet best and they do not disappoint. They are both flattering and comfortable! So far I’ve worn them slightly dressier with a lace cami and dressed down with a basic t-shirt! Ah I just love them!!
Striped Ali Vneck – I’m sure you all know that I love love love stripes. It’s easily my favorite pattern, you can never go wrong! I grabbed this in gray and it has already been my go to t-shirt many times.
Vintage Burnout Tee – This is the top I’m wearing in these photos! Graphic tees are huge this summer and I love how fun all the Southern Shirt ones are! They have so many cute styles so you for sure have to go flip through the pages! They also make them in tons of fun colors which is what summer is all about – COLOR!
Each piece of theirs is crazy comfortable, I’ve had several of you shoot me DM’s on Instagram after my try on session a couple weeks ago saying you placed an order and have been loving your pieces too which makes me so happy! I knew you guys would 🙂 And the girls there are so awesome they sent me a discount code for you babes to shop! Use INF-KARLIE15 at checkout for 15% off your entire order! Something I should also mention is that they also have men’s clothing and tons of summer stuff for any guys in your life too! (I love their swim trunks!)
Hope you all are having amazing starts to your summer! If you end up ordering anything off their site, make sure post a pic either on Instagram or on your Instagram story and tag both Southern Shirt and myself, (@southernshirt + @karlierae), so we can see the fun things you grabbed and how you are stying everything!!
Happy Wednesday!
Xx,
Thank you Southern Shirt for sponsoring this post!
