I am SO excited to finally share our moody whiskey lounge with you! When we bought our house in 2020, this was actually the formal dining room. We decided to make the ‘nook’ into our formal dining room which gave us the opportunity to put our creative caps on and do something fun in here, and we love it! It has been the BEST for hosting friends and family over, everyone always loves hanging out in here.
And honestly, this room is just so pretty to look at! It feels so cozy and inviting with all the deep tones and textures. We worked with Arhaus on our main living area and I am so excited to partner with them again! They have so many versatile pieces to fit different interior styles and I just love the contrast between our bright and airy living space and this dark and moody whiskey lounge.
What I really loved about working with Arhaus in our living room was the in-house designers that help you pick pieces that’ll work in the space. (This is a complimentary service they offer, so take advantage!!) I knew for our whiskey lounge that I wanted to work with Mollie (@molliemakesitpretty), again since we loved how she helped design the living room. We met over Zoom and talked about how we wanted the room to feel and what color palette we wanted to have. She then sent over 2D renderings and mood boards to help us visualize what the space could look like. It was SO helpful to see it come to life with the pieces she picked out!
The swivel chairs are some of my FAVORITE things in this room! Arhaus pieces are made to last. The chairs and sofas are customizable so you can pick fabrics and colors that will fit your look and your lifestyle. Their crypton fabric is amazing if you have kids because it’s stain, odor, and moisture resistant. That is what our main living room couch is made of, and even red wine and pasta sauce has wiped right off!
This is our 3rd house we’ve lived in together since we’ve been married, and since we have furnished and decorated them all, I feel like we have really grown into and learned what our own personal home style is. I’d say for the most part we love a transitional style that brings in current home trends, but still has that timeless and traditional feel. Shopping at Arhaus makes putting together cohesive, functional and beautiful spaces so easy, even when we want to switch things up from a light bright space like our living room to a dark moody space like our lounge.
